Mr. Jimmy Traylor Sr.

Jimmy Don Traylor Sr. was born on November 25, 1953 in Magnolia, Arkansas. Jimmy was born during the union of Johnny Lee Traylor (Eldorado, AR) and Selma O’Guinn (Shreveport, LA). Jimmy was the fourth child born to his mother Selma O’Guinn and the first of her Traylor children. In 1960, at the age of seven Jimmy moved with his mother and six siblings to Los Angeles, California. It was in Los Angeles, at Metropolitan BapUst Church, where Jimmy first accepted Christ and became a ChrisUan. Jimmy aVended school in Los Angeles, California; He aVended Ascot Avenue Elementary School, George Washington Carver Junior High School and Thomas Jefferson High School. Jimmy also aVended WyandoVe High School in Kansas City, Kansas where he was a Basketball high scoring star. Jimmy joined the U.S. Air Force on February 2, 1972 as an Aircra` Mechanic, and received his high school diploma while serving in the United States military along with being Honorably Discharged as a Disabled Veteran during Vietnam. Jimmy held jobs in the transportaUon industry a`er separaUng from the military and he reUred from the City of Los Angeles as a Supervisor in the sanitaUons department with just over 30 years of service. Jimmy was a die-hard Cowboy fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys to no end and we honestly believe he bled the colors of blue and gray for over 40 years. The funny thing is, Jimmy had an uncanny knowledge of the players and history in the Raider NaUon.... Just one of those things that make you say, Hmmm! Jimmy had many loves, and was introduced to trains while aVending Ascot Elementary School when his mother bought him his first train set for Christmas. Jimmy reignited that passion later in life and amassed a very extensive and elaborate train collecUon and loved to share it with his grandchildren. His greatest passion was cars, Jimmy absolutely and unequivocally loved restoring old 1956 classic cars and created the enUty Traylor Made Classics under which he bought, restored and sold classic cars. AddiUonally, Jimmy loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed collecUng shirts from different locaUons across the country, while being a proud member of Kings of Cali motorcycle club. Jimmy enjoyed being a father and grandfather, while encouraging his three children to walk the straight and narrow path in life being good people because it was of great importance to him, and coined the phrase “You will either make good decisions or become a vicUm of the bad ones” and “Handle your business”. Jimmy had two children with Irene Flanagan (Compton, CA) the mother of his daughters, Shelly Monique Traylor born in 1980 and Jasmine Ariel Traylor born in 1990. Jimmy had one child with Victoria Simon (Los Angeles, CA) the mother of his son Jimmy Don Traylor Jr. born in 1985. Jimmy was married in the mid 90’s to early 00’s and had other companions throughout his life that he and his children loved, respected, and appreciated for the value they brought to him and our family dynamic with how they took care of him. Jimmy leaves behind in legacy his daughter Shelly Traylor and her two children Summer Flowers and Kingston Flowers, his son Jimmy Traylor Jr. and his daughter Journey Traylor, and his daughter Jasmine Traylor and her two fur babies Kuma and Snowball. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother and Father Selma O’Guinn-Bailey and Johnny Lee Traylor. Siblings: John Traylor, Jonell Traylor, Peggy Henderson, Olie Traylor, Berlin Traylor, Janice Traylor and Sweet John Parker, Deloris F. Traylor, Benny Traylor, Gloria J. Traylor, Rosalind R. Traylor, Raheem Askia, Kwame Askia, Gary Traylor, Gayle T. Ross, Mickey and Nickey Traylor, O’Dell Traylor, Danny Collier and LaJuana Traylor, good friends Herman and Punch along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, and many other friends.
