Mr Ricky Bonsal

Mr. Ricky Bonsal, 66, of Grand Bay, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A man of deep love, strength, and kindness, Ricky will be remembered for his vibrant smile, unforgettable laugh, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. Ricky was born on January 28, 1959, to Billy and Theresa Bonsal, who preceded him in death along with his brothers Billy, Wendell, and James Bonsal. He carried a great sense of pride in his Native American heritage and often spoke of the joy he found during his time serving in the U.S. Navy. An adventurous spirit, Ricky loved the freedom of the open road and cherished his time riding motorcycles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Bonsal of Grand Bay, AL; and his children, Chrissy Bonsal of Grand Bay, AL; Amanda and Kyle Lowe of Commerce, TX; and Ricky Bonsal of Grand Bay, AL. Ricky was a proud grandfather to Dustin and Dakota McClenny of Mineola, TX; Daytona McClenny of AL; Savanna and Joshua James of Gary, TX; Erabellae Smith of Alba, TX; and McKenna Lowe of Commerce, TX. He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him joy and pride. He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda Bonsal (Robert Falati) of Longview, TX, and Melanie Phillips (Robert) of Quitman, TX; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory. A man with a heart as big as his smile, Ricky touched many lives with his compassion. He was a good man, and a believer in the promise of eternal life. His love for Christ was quiet but unwavering. As a final reminder of the eternal hope Ricky carried in his heart, the family shares these words from Romans 8:38–39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” In accordance with his family’s wishes, Mr. Bonsal will be cremated. A memorial service and interment will take place in mid to late August in Payne Springs, TX, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents and brothers in the family cemetery. The family extends their sincere gratitude for the many prayers, comforting words, and acts of kindness shown during this time of loss.
